We asked her to share her favorite spots in the area.

Although she grew up in Marin and went to college in Southern California, Hanson knowns Sonoma like the back of her hand. Earlier this summer, the Hansons opened their first tasting room in Sonoma. At just 27, Hanson has helped grow the family distillery exponentially over the past four years. Hanson is the marketing director at Hanson of Sonoma Organic Vodka, a family-run company that produces small-batch, grape-based vodka with organic ingredients. Where to stay? What to eat? There are hundreds of wineries in Napa and Sonoma Counties-so many that planning a trip to wine country can be an intimidating and daunting task, especially to the inexperienced drinker. I'm sure it's even better during the summer when you can sunbathe by the pool and swim the entire day. Most of all we liked the herbal steam room and the sauna. The spa was great, we enjoyed swimming in the pool while it was warm outside, and when it got colder we went for a bathing ritual. The hotel has a relaxing vibe and it is a great place for a short getaway from the busy life in the city. The resort is very beautiful and well maintained and it was a please to wake up and see green lawns and trees. My friend and I were looking for a two days getaway from SF and Fairmont Sonoma was a great choice.
